Celtic were at Paradise earlier today training hard and putting in final preparations ahead of our trip to Munich…

The squad were all there as Brendan Rodgers and his backroom staff oversaw the last of the training sessions on home soil, before heading out to the beautiful German city to face another stern test of character in the Champions League this season.
The manager has spoken beforehand about the need to enjoy ourselves and the occasion, whilst showing what we’re all about and taking the game more to Vincent Kompany’s team in Bavaria tomorrow night. It promises to be another special night and the wonderful surroundings of the Allianz Arena should be perfect for this European adventure on the road.

With the Germans boasting a sterling home record in the competition and Celtic’s woes on their travels common knowledge, the chances of Rodgers’ men pulling off the spectacular are highly improbable. Having said all that, Bayern have shown their vulnerability last week at Celtic Park, with the away side hanging on in there on the ropes for the closing stages of the match, after Daizen Maeda pulled one back to halve the deficit.

It’s that fighting spirit which will be required on Tuesday evening and the team need to stick together and find the courage and defensive resolve of Bergamo with this one. We kept Atalanta’s quality relatively quiet that night in Italy and we have to repeat that feat, whilst also showing more purpose in attack versus Bayern. Counter-attacks will be crucial and we must ensure we are more efficient with them when they happen.
