Video: Celtic target scores huge late winner against Spurs

Celtic have reportedly been interested in signing Callum Wilson from West Ham United. It was widely reported that the Celts had made enquiries with the London club and that West Ham were considering terminating the English striker’s contract.

However, Wilson came on as a second half substitute for the Hammers today and he came up trumps with a dramatic late winner at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. The goal could prove crucial as West Ham fight to stay in the Premier League.

Speaking after match, manager Nuno Espirito Sancho  said “I’m so happy for him (Callum Wilson), the winning goal it means a lot.” The boss was then coy about the forward’s future, stating: “we need to rebalance the squad, but rumours rumours rumours we are doing things properly.” When pressed about fans who will claim that you can’t let a player go, who has just scored such an important goal, Nuno laughed and said “rightly so.”

The winning goal puts West Ham three points clear of Burnley and five behind Nottingham Forest, though they remain in 18th spot.

It seems a goal of such significance makes a move to Celtic unlikely now.
