Celtic’s Alistair Johnston was on the receiving end of a headbutt in Canada’s Copa America clash with Peru. As the pair exchanged words, the right back was head butted by Peru’s Marcos López.
Bizarrely, the decision was reviewed by VAR but no card was forthcoming for López despite the clear and obvious contact with Johnston.

Despite the contact, Johnston was able to continue and Canada were worthy 1-0 winners in the game.
Johnston joined Celtic in the January of 2023 after impressing at the World Cup in Qatar. Celtic moved for the Montreal CF defender and he’s enjoyed his time at Celtic, winning five trophies out of a possible six.
AJ has won 4 out of 6 as the League Cup was won before he arrived in the Treble season,.
