Video: Celtic’s Champions League rivals soundly beaten on Saturday

Celtic’s Champions League rivals Atletico Madrid were soundly beaten by Valencia on Saturday. Diego Simeone’s outfit suffered their first defeat of the season by the hosts, who had come into the match on the back of two defeats.

A first-half double from Hugo Duro and a goal from Javi Guerra earned Valencia a 3-0 home win over Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

Madrid kick off their UEFA Champions League campaign by traveling to Rome to face Lazio. Celtic, meanwhile, are on the road to face Feyenoord in Rotterdam. You would imagine that Atletico would be the favourites to progress as Group Winners, despite being the Pot Two team.

Atletico Starting XI: Oblak; Riquelme, Hermoso, Witsel, Savic, Azpilicueta, Lemar, Barrios, Llorente, Morata, Griezmann.

Subs: Grbić, Giménez, Ñiguez, Correa, Molina, Galán, Lino, Alemañ.
