Video: Celtic’s last visit to Paisley, a victory despite an early scare

Celtic beat St Mirren 2-1 on their last visit to Paisley with goals from Shane Duffy and James Forrest sealing the points. Since Celtic lost the last outing between the sides last month, we are sharing the highlights from the game back in September.

Lee Erwin gave Jim Goodwin’s side the perfect start as he scrambled the ball into the net with less than three minutes on the clock. It was a stark reminder that the problems Celtic have suffered from (defending corners) isn’t new nor has it been rectified since. Celtic huffed and puffed and eventually got an equaliser through Irish captain Shane Duffy. Duffy met a Ryan Christie free kick to nod Neil Lennon’s side back onto level terms.

However the winner would come through James Forrest who would score a header from an excellent cross from Christie. The winger, who you would associate with scoring with his head, managed to stoop to meet the flight of the ball and head it into the net, sealing the first half comeback.

Celtic had chances to put the game out of sight, but they were spurned giving Saints the chance to equalise towards the end of the game but they managed to hold firm and take maximum points.
