‘Why can’t we?’, St Mirren star target another Celtic upset

St Mirren’s Kyle McAllister has said that Jim Goodwin’s side are targeting back-to-back wins over Celtic in Wednesday match in Paisley. The Buddies shocked Celtic with a 2-1 win last month at Celtic Park and will be lining up under the lights hoping to inflict more misery on the Scottish Champions.

Speaking to The Herald, McAllister said that the Saints would match up Neil Lennon’s side, as the did a little over a week ago, when goals from Dennis and Durmus earned a 2-1 win.

“We have got Celtic again on Wednesday and obviously did a great job at Parkhead recently. Why can’t we do that again at home? Hopefully we can get three more points.

“If we play like we did at Parkhead can we get a result? Yeah, we switched up the formation for that game and matched them up. A lot of people don’t do that. They usually go to Parkhead and sit in.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen on Wednesday, but I’m sure we will go and match up against them again, and hopefully it works out the same way.”

Celtic will, however, be looking to make a point that no one can take points off them and go unpunished. Celtic were convincing against both Killie and Motherwell for the vast majority of the game, they need to capitalise on chances and put games to bed. Arguably one thing that Celtic have struggled for this year is a consistent lineup but hopefully on Wednesday they will be able to retain the players that played at the weekend.

Odsonne Edouard seems to be coming into a bit of form as well as Celtic’s backline appearing slightly more settled with the partnership of Stephen Welsh and Kris Ajer in the centre of defence.
