Video: Celtic’s Rocco Vata scores stunning goal for Ireland’s U17s

Celtic’s Rocco Vata has conjured up a moment of sheer quality as Ireland’s U17 beat North Macedonia 2-0. It was an excellent goal from the youngster, cutting in from the right and firing a right-footed drive into the roof of the net from outside the box.

Vata has a Scottish mother and an Albanian father but qualifies for Ireland by virtue of an Irish grandmother. He would be able to change further down the line but with moments like this, you can see why Ireland would be desperate to keep him around going forward. If the youngster can continue his performances for the Celtic youth sides as well as the Irish U17 side, he will push himself into the first team at some stage.
