On This Day in 2023, Celtic beat Shakhtar Donestk 2-1 at Celtic Park. Massimo Donati netted in injury time as Gordon Strachan’s side picked up yet another home Champions League scalp in the form of the Ukrainian Champions.
Brandao opened the scoring for the visitors before Jiri Jarosik fired Celtic level. The Italian midfielder would pop up to score via a deflection but no one cared as it kept Strachan’s men on course for the Last 16.
Charlie Nicholas, who is often criticised for his anti-Celtic media rhetoric was joined by Jim White in the Sky Sports studio for the game. However, Nicholas like the rest of the capacity of Celtic Park enjoyed the goal and a video has resurfaced of him jumping about after Donati found the net.
The brilliant clip shows Nicholas as an ex-Celtic player and supporter. Even if now he takes the outrageous and cheap shot tactics to stay relevant and get some degree of relevance in this day and age, it is still hilarious watching him bounce about why Jim White tries not to cry.
Here is a fan’s view of the goal:
