Video: Chris Sutton predicts Rangers downfall after Celtic resurgence

It was a nervy ending last night, but there is something about squeezing past AZ Alkmaar that has given Celtic fans across the world instilled belief that they are a much better outfit than people have given them credit for in recent times.

After the Midtjylland defeat, the prospect of playing anyone half-decent – never mind Alkmaar – was extremely daunting, with many already calling the season ‘a lost cause’.

Yet, with some brilliant coaching, superb recruitment (Kyogo Furuhashi, we’re looking at you) and some actual confident football instead of the dour, dull offering given up by Neil Lennon – it appears Celtic are back.

Chris Sutton shares this belief. Lots have questioned the (admittedly) many drawbacks that still exist in the Celtic setup, but the Englishman believes that whilst there is a lot of work to do, there is also reason now for Celtic to look forward – and threw digs at theRangers, predicting an implosion similar to Celtic’s last season should Ange Postecoglou keep up this form.

Speaking to Premier Sports, the former striker and Premier League winner reflected on the last couple of weeks.
