Video: Christopher Jullien back at Celtic Park, “It feels amazing to be back”

Christopher Jullien popped up at Celtic Park earlier today as part of the new kit promotion which was officially launched this morning . The French defender has spent the last few months back home in Paris working on his rehabilitation from the awful knee injury he suffered at the end of December against Dundee Utd at Celtic Park.

The former Toulouse central defender collided with the goalpost while preventing a goal for the visitors but what a price he paid as he smashed his knee against the goals. Jullien talks in detail about the incident here and reveals that he couldn’t move his leg and had no feeling in it at all after the incident.

Jullien also confirms that while he is making good progress thanks to the diligent recovery work he is still around 3 months away from being able to play again, so it might be October time before he’s ready to re-join his teammates.

Jullien remembers the highs of his time at Celtic – the winning goals against Lazio in the Europa League and theRangers in the League Cup Final being particular highlights but says it’s been awful having to watch his teammates playing on TV, with him being able to do absolutely nothing to help.

Still Jullien was clearly delighted to be back home in Paradise, a feeling hopefully we’ll all get in the not too distant future. “It feels amazing to be back,” said Jullien. “It’s been a long time. The last time I was here it wasn’t a good day for me because, although the team won, I got injured. It’s great to be back, see the pitch and see this beautiful kit.”

And the Frenchman is clearly missing playing in front of the Celtic support. “I can’t wait to see the fans again and to have them in the stands. It would be the best present for my comeback,” he stated.
