Video: Caitlin Hayes on Sunday’s SWPL Title D-Day – ‘Mon the Celtic and the Rangers

Caitlin Hayes was at Celtic Park today to model the new Celtic away kit then afterwards to appear at the new format mixed media conference ahead of a similar appearance from the impressive Celtic FC Women manager Fran Alonso.

These Mixed Media conferences are being trialled by the club, presumably with a view to implementing on an ongoing basis for the new season. The Mainstream media were represented by STV, BBC and Glasgow Times/ Herald while The Celtic Star and several of the Celtic podcasts were also present.

What appears to be the trend is that the Celtic fans media are asking questions and starting conversations that are more in line with what the supporters want to hear (we even got Fran Alonso talking about Angelos “Ange” Postecoglou today.

And taken in the round, these Mixed Media Conferences end up being much more pro-Celtic than before the fans media got involved. Partisan in nature, the fans media make no excuses for being behind the team and looking positively towards the weekend and how things could transpire as Celtic look set to secure a Champions League spot while awaiting the result elsewhere to see whether Glasgow City of Celtic will be Champions.

For the latter to happen Celtic need a favour from theRangers, who themselves need to win and hope Motherwell can do them a favour against Celtic. Glasgow City need a point to win the league.

Here’s Caitlin chatting to the Mixed Media Conference from Celtic Park earlier today and we’ve also some photographs from today’s photoshoot. Caitlin explains how her family is steeped in the Celtic tradition and talks about the unbelievable team spirit that this Celtic side have. At the weekend against Forfar Farmington Celtic were chasing down a large goal difference deficit – basically ten goals were needed to get their noses in front at the top of the table before Glasgow City kicked off.

Celtic went in at the interval 5 goals up but as a unit played the second half on the basis that they were 4 goals BEHIND so need to score 5 to win. Thus the 10-0 scoreline.

Sunday’s games kick-off at the same time so we’ll know where the title is likely to end up as the game progresses. Maybe we’ll have a Love Street moment as the Celts in the crowd cheer news of a goal elsewhere from theRangers!

A very fitting way to end the most bizarre season ever. COYGIG
