Video: Daizen Maeda misses a sitter to give Celtic the lead

Daizen Maeda has missed an absolute sitter to deny Celtic from taking the lead at Fir Park. The Japanese forward closed in at the back post and got on the end of an Alistair Johnston fizzed cross. As everyone expected the net to bulge, the ball flew by the post and went behind for a goal kick.

The only mitigating factor might be the height, with the left winger unsure whether to go with his head or foot.

Although, just a moment before, Celtic had a shout for a penalty that wasn’t really checked by VAR. It appeared that Yang’s shot struck the hand of the Motherwell defender Casey but after a brief pause, Willie Collum was told to play on.

  1. Hopeless, as usual. How he still starts is beyond me. I literally hate watching him try to play football. It hurts my eyes. Contributes zero in goals or asists, but STILL fans like him more than Palma .. baffling!
