Video: Danny McGrain unfurls the flag, Ntcham’s ankle knock

CELTIC TV have released a video of Danny McGrain unfurling the flag at Celtic Park yesterday ahead of the 3-1 win over Livingston – a score that hugely flatters the visitors.

On the form shown yesterday few sides are going to be able to live with Celtic in Paradise this season.

Brendan Rodgers spoke after the game about strengthening his squad in the coming days and both Paddy Roberts and Daniel Arzani looks likely to arrive but the Celtic manager remained tight lipped regarding his other main target John McGinn.

The Celtic boss will now be concentrating fully on Wednesday’s visitors AEK Athens and the Irishman hopes to catch the Greek Champions cold and win the tie in the first leg.

One major worry though was the ankle injury picked up by Olivier Ntcham in stoppage time yesterday which makes the French midfielder a big doubt ahead of the AEK Athens match. Other than the late injury scare, which led to the last gasp consolation for the visitors – much to the annoyance of Craig Gordon – Rodgers was pleased with the performance against Livingston.

“It was a very good performance for us. We had good tempo and energy which is never easy against a team when they sit in. Livingston made it difficult for us, they have an honest group of players,” he said.

“Some of our play was exceptional. Our only complaint was the goal we conceded when Olivier was injured and unable to go back with his man. He took what looked a sore one on the ankle and we will assess that.”
