Exclusive Interview – Elena Sadiku on winning the league, building a Celtic squad to dominate domestically and gets noticed in Champions League…
The day after the night before, Elena Sadiku spoke to me representing The Celtic Star inside the Boardroom at Celtic Park with the Celtic FC Women manager standing alongside a new arrival inside trophy room, the SWPL1 trophy!
Elena talks through her tough start at the club, losing her first two games to theRangers and Glasgow City. She tells us about the moment that she thought that the team could actually do it by going on to win the SWPL1 title for the first time in the club’s history and she talked with pride about her players and the way they have performed for her since arriving at the club in January.
Elena describes that magical moment when Amy Gallacher scored in the 90th minute against Hibs on Sunday and the noise that was created by the Celtic supporters going crazy.

Looking forward Elena revealed that there is a contract out with an incoming player, which is waiting to be signed so that should hopefully be announced shortly with more expected to arrive too as she gets the first chance to shape the squad in her own image.
There’s also the Champions League to consider and Elena is looking to make a mark and make sure that Celtic FC Women is noticed, while talking about building a squad that can dominate domestically.
