Video: Former Celtic star Kieran Tierney plays a fine through ball to assist Arsenal’s second vs Man City

It’s incredible to think that some fans and pundits were writing off Kieran Tierney after his first few months at Arsenal.

Ultimately he struggled with injuries and that limited his appearances in the first team, but he’s bounced back and he’s become a key player.

Arsenal needed players with quality and a fighting spirit, while Celtic fans will remember that Tierney was capable of being a leader too.

He’s played a key part in putting them on the brink of the FA Cup final, after this fine through ball assisted Aubameyang for their second vs Man City:

It’s a perfectly weighted through ball that puts the striker clear through on goal, and it shows how important Tierney is to this Arsenal side.

Celtic have struggled to find a replacement for him at left back and that’s been shown against Lyon tonight, so this is a timely reminder of how good Tierney is. Boli Bolingoli was caught ball watching for Lyon’s second as the Scottish Champions were exposed down their left flank. Similarly the cross for Lyon’s first came from the left too.

Celtic supporters will not be surprised that Tierney is showing his class in England, having showcased his talents during his time in Glasgow.
