Video: Former Celtic target in one of the worst own goals you’ll ever see

Romaine Sawyers, a former Celtic transfer target, has scored one of the worst own goals that you’ll ever see in tonight’s game against Leeds United. The West Brom midfielder looked to pick out his goalkeeper from midfield but didn’t look before sending the ball back to Johnstone in goals.

Sawyers picked former club West Brom over Celtic last summer when moving from Brentford. He was part of Slaven Bilic’s side that earned promotion and now with Sam Allardyce as they try and beat the drop.

The own goal is bad but it may not be as bad as the Cha Du Ri own goal away to Rennes in the Europa League a few years ago when he played the ball beyond Fraser Forster and then found the funny side of it. Perhaps the only one to do so at the time.
