Video: Goals from Maeda and Juranovic give Celtic the lead

Celtic go into half time on their return to Paradise with a 2-0 lead over the visitors from Easter Road. In a dominant first half, an energetic Celtic have impressed in the first game of 2022.

It took less than four minutes for Dazen Maeda to open his Celtic account. The Japanese internationalist arrived from Yokohama F Marinos on a loan to buy deal and the attacker marked his debut with a goal. Tom Rogic slotted the ball into his path and a scuffed finish (with a deflection) fooled Matt Macey in the Hibs net.

Celtic doubled their lead through Josip Juranovic after Willie Collum pointed to the spot. The veteran referee took his time before finally deciding that the Celtic claims were warranted. Macey was sent the wrong way as the Croatian Internationalist slotted into the corner.

Hopefully there will be more goals in the second half as Ange Postecoglou’s side look to cut the gap on Rangers, who travel to Pittodrie tomorrow.
