Video – Happier Times, Hooper & Commons Fire Celtic Into Champions League Last 16

It was 5 December 2012 that Neil Lennon’s Celtic side beat Spartak Moscow on a thunderous night in Paradise to qualify for the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

The Bhoys took the lead in the match, when a mistake allowed Gary Hooper to take full advantage with an outstanding half volley.

Spartak drew level before the break, leaving Celtic’s hopes in the balance.

The second half was tense, but Kris Commons secured qualification with a penalty kick which he thundered in off the crossbar.

It was a fantastic night on and off the park as Celtic negotiated an incredibly tough group with Spartak Moscow, Benfica and Barcelona for opposition.
