Video: How Celtic’s Euro opponents inflicted Mourinho’s heaviest defeat

Celtic found out their Europa Conference League opponents earlier today as Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt were pulled out the hat to face Ange Posstecoglou’s side in the next round. However, the 2020 Norwegian Champions inflicted a 6-1 defeat on AS Roma earlier this year in the same competition.

Jose Mourinho is widely regarded as one of football’s greatest managers but the Arctic Circle club ended up inflicting Mourinho’s heaviest defeat after putting six goals beyond his side. Erik Botheim grabbed two along with Ola Solbakken as Bodø-Glimt capitalised on having nine shots on target. Highly-rated midfielder Patrick Berg grabbed one as did Amahl Pellegrino. It was a night to forget for Mourinho as he typically lambasted his youthful team. Watch the goals here and you’ll see that our next European opponents are going to be a tricky test.

Mourinho’s team finished top of the Europa Conference League group, which means that they could potentially lie in wait for Celtic further down the line, should they dispose of Bodø-Glimt. The games will be played on the 17th and 24th of February, with the Norwegian club to visit Paradise before the trip to the Arctic Circle.
