Video: “I couldn’t ask for much more,” Celtic’s Star Man, James Forrest

“It was a great feeling to start, so to then get into the next round and to score as well I couldn’t ask for much more,” James Forrest said after last night’s 3-0 win over Falkirk at Celtic Park.

And the Interim Celtic manager was delighted to welcome the Celtic winger back into the starting line-up for the first time since last September.

“It’s great to have him back and good to get him on the scoresheet,” John Kennedy said after the dominant performance against Falkirk, a side that traditionally has caused Celtic problems in the Scottish Cup in years gone by. Not  this time though as Forrest, Christie and the pick of the trio from Elyounoussi gave Celtic a very comfortable 3-0 win.

“As the game progressed I thought you saw him sharpening up. It was great for him to get a goal and he was unlucky not to get a second. He was frustrated at that but it’s great to have him back.”

“James has had a hard time. He works ever so hard and is one of the best professionals I’ve ever seen in terms of how he looks after his body and the work he puts into that,” Kennedy added.

There is little doubt that the loss of James Forrest this season has had a significant bearing on the way things have worked out for Celtic. Maybe he’ll make up for lost time by driving Celtic towards a Scottish Cup win with a league win at Ibrox too!
