Video: “If we are not at our best, we will struggle to get something from the game,” Celtic boss

Manager Fran Alonso last night looked ahead to his side’s next SWPL 1 match against Forfar Farmington on Sunday as Celtic look to make it five win in the bounce and keep the pressure up on league leaders Glasgow City.

“We cannot underestimate Forfar Farmington. If we are not at our best, we will struggle to get something from the game. It is important to approach the game in our usual manner of a cup final. It will be a tough game and we preparing for that,” the Celtic manager said. Watch his interview below which includes some spectacular goals and including that perfect penalty against theRangers. Two of the goals against Hibs last time out are also shown, one will remind you of Larsson’s in the 6-2 game and that was also the result that night two weeks ago tomorrow, that left Hibs shell shocked.

Hibs reckoned that they had the better of the first half yet the scoreline at the interval was Hibs 1 Celtic 5 – as devastating a counter attacking performance as you could hope to see from a Celtic side. Tactics were spot on from Alonso who nevertheless remains modest and prefers to praise his team.

Celtic lost the opening game of the season away to Glasgow City but bounced back despite having a difficult list, with away wins against Hearts (10-0), theRangers (1-0) and Hibs (6-2) with the only home win of the campaign, the week before the Beautiful Sunday win at theRangers Training Ground, against Spartans (1-0).

Celtic play Forfar Farmington on Sunday 6 December at K-Park in a 2pm kick-off and this game will be broadcast live on BBC Alba. Here’s the Scottish Building Society SWPL 1 table as it stands after five games played…
