Celtic thought that they had surrendered two points in injury time after Blair Spittal scored for Motherwell. Spittal’s 95th minute goal looked to have secured a point for Motherwell right at the end, minutes after Luis Palma thought he had won it.
However, Celtic scored once again in the 97th minute after Matt O’Riley crept in at the back post and finished well. It sparked incredible scenes at full-time with a number of fans coming onto the field. Greg Taylor’s pass was perfectly weighted, O’Riley ghosted into the box and finished brilliantly. A great win and it gives Brendan Rodgers’ team confidence going into Wednesday’s game against Lazio.

It was incredible from Celtic as they refused to concede that the game was set to end a draw. Now, Celtic have taken a seven point lead ahead of Rangers (3rd) and five points ahead of second placed St Mirren.
Meanwhile Thursday 19 October is going to be a very special day for The Celtic Star so please save the date…
