Video: Jackie McNamara previews Sunday’s Semi-final Glasgow Derby

Sky Sports Scotland caught up with one of Celtic’s magnificent 2003 squad to talk all things Celtic, ahead of the Scottish Cup Semi-final against theRangers on Sunday afternoon. Jackie McNamara was opening his new bar on Sauchiehall Street a few days ago, which he has undertaken as a joint venture with ex-Celtic star Simon Donnelly.

The former Hoops captain and his old teammate Donnelly have opened DonMcNamaras as an Irish themed public house. It is located in the Beresford building just down from the Garage nightclub and promises to be an interesting addition to the main drag on Sauchiehall Street.

The Sky Sports team were on hand to congratulate him and ask him about the upcoming Glasgow Derby match at the national stadium this coming weekend. Of course, Jackie Mac wants the Bhoys to hopefully overcome theRangers and see through the Treble dream that so many supporters harbour for this Ange Postecoglou side.

Our ex-defender reckons that Mick Beale’s team will still pose a threat to Celtic’s ambitions of a domestic clean sweep this year, so we can’t count our chickens by any means. However, he also took the time to highlight the importance of Kyogo Furuhashi and emphasise his belief that Cameron Carter-Vickers is this year’s Player of the Year for him.

Watch Jackie chat all things Celtic ahead of the big match below…

About Author

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
