Video: Japanese link-up as Hatate feeds Maeda to double the lead

Celtic’s Japanese duo have linked up superbly to give the Hoops a 2-0 lead going into the interval in Warsaw – with Reo Hatate sliding Daizen Maeda in to double their advantage in Artur Boruc’s testimonial game.

Hatate had finished superbly from an Anthony Ralston cross on the 20th minute to leave Boruc 1-0 down against his former team-mates in the Polish capital, and Celtic had been applying the pressure ever since by hitting the post three times in a bid to double their advantage.

Huffing and puffing, it seemed as though Ange’s men would somehow fail to make the breakthrough against a wobbly Legia Warsaw defence with the woodwork being the divider three times over.

But Maeda’s cool finish from Hatate’s through ball saw an end to that to give the side from Paradise a convincing lead and it appears that will be that against the team that finished 10th in the Ekstraklasa last season.

Celtic’s attack have seemingly carried on from where they left off last season – that can only be a good thing with the new season on the horizon.
