Video: Kennedy on Brown, Hammond, Edouard and “Good to Go” Forrest “In Contention to Start”

John Kennedy spoke to the Mainstream Media earlier today ahead on the 3rd Round Scottish Cup tie against Falkirk on Saturday evening and had plenty to talk about including Nick Hammond’s decision to move on from his role as Head of Football Operations (apparently after failing to secure the new Director of Football role), Scott Brown’s decision to reject the offers on the table from Celtic to pursue a new challenge at Aberdeen and various snippets of interest on the playing side of things including:

  • Odsonne Edouard has not arrived back in Glasgow yet after playing in all three games for the French Under 21s – scoring twice. The French striker is scheduled to be back at Lennoxtown tomorrow and all be assessed ahead of a decision on whether he’ll start against Falkirk on Saturday evening.  (Kick-off is 7.30pm remember,  and the game is live on Premier Sports.
  • James Forrest is ‘Good to Go’ after an intense week of training and is in contention to start.

  • Mikey Johnston is still missing, and although he’s been working on the training ground, Kennedy believes that he needs more time before he is ready to play and will not risk the winger picking up another injury by playing him too soon.
  • All the other players who have been away on international duty are back and without any injury mishaps. “Healthy and well” was the Interim Manager’s Update. As always Kennedy speaks very well, and remains unconcerned about what the future holds for him at Celtic, amid intense speculation that Eddie Howe is set to be appointed. You get the feeling the John Kennedy, probably on the recommendation to Howe from Brendan Rodgers will remain at Celtic. But for now, for John Kennedy he is not concerned with that and is only focused on beating Falkirk at the weekend.
