Video: Lubo’s artistry as free-kick proves to be match winner

Lubomir Moravcik struck an inch-perfect free kick to win all three points as Martin O’Neill’s Celtic drew nearer to the League title, on this day in 2001.

The Slovakian magician showed incredible skill to bend the ball into the top right hand corner to vindicate O’Neill’s decision to sub him on with just eight minutes remaining.

Billy Davies, then ‘Well manager, was furious as his side had managed to defend for their lives for 82 minutes, camping in against O’Neill’s side. The win maintained Celtic’s 100% home record and would be another step towards the Treble.
