Video: Mark Wilson reflects on Ibrox classic and ‘The Shame Game’

Mark Wilson has reflected on two Scottish Cup games from 2011 in which Celtic and Rangers fiercely went toe to toe for a place in the next round. Jamie Ness scored a screamer for Rangers before Kris Commons pulled one back. Fraser Forster was sent off and Whittaker scored the penalty. However in the second half, Scott Brown cemented himself in the fixture by scoring a stunning left footed strike, sealing a draw and marking the birth of ‘The Broony’.

The game then went to a replay in which there were three Rangers red cards, a managerial scuffle at full time and a winner from an unlikely source – Mark Wilson. The right back fired in a scuffed effort after a blasted effort just about knocked Sasa Papac back to Ibrox.

Wilson was quite humour in reflecting on that game and how he ended up being a footnote as a Government summit was ordered in the wake of the game, which resulted in the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act.
