Celtic’s Moritz Jenz previewed tomorrow night’s game against Shakhtar Donestk in Matchday Two of the UEFA Champions League. The defender will start for Ange Postecoglou’s side as they look to put their first points on the board after a spirited defeat against Real Madrid.
The German defender is expecting a tough game against the Ukrainian side, who dispatched RB Leipzig 4-1 last week on MD1. He stated that he is expecting the ‘home’ side to use a defensive block and to attempt to hit the Scottish Champions on the break.
What is mightily impressive in Celtic’s squad under Ange is the ability of the players to identify opponents tactics. Postecoglou clearly discusses these matters with his players and makes sure that they are fully briefed on what to expect from the teams that they face.
They, Shakhtar Donetsk, played a counter attacking system against RB Leipzig which worked for them, but they’re just as capable taking a game to an opponent; they’re dangerous on the break in any system they play so Celtic will be on their toes defensively.
Celtic under Ange, as we know now, concentrate on their own game, and Shakhtar with a win under their belt and full of confidence may not show us the same respect they did Leipzig, so it could be an open game
