Video: Neil Lennon’s Bolton Interview Resurfaces & Fans Draw Comparisons To Current Celtic Issues

A YouTube clip from five years ago when Neil Lennon was Manager of Bolton Wanderers has resurfaced as some Celtic fans have drawn comparisons between the Irishman’s comments then to now.

Lennon can be heard slamming his team for their inability to deal with set pieces, conceding goals from such situations for five games in a row. He also says that he doesn’t know why it’s happening, but it must be psychological.

The same issue has plagued Celtic this season as the Hoops have conceded numerous set piece goals. Lennon has been quoted as saying that the players need to want to go and win the ball and put their head in, whilst he has no idea how to change it.

Consequentially, the above clip has led to Celtic fans on Facebook drawing comparisons. One Celt said: “He should be shown the first two minutes of this interview and see if he recognises it.” Another Celtic supporter said: “Where have I heard that before?”
