SHANE DUFFY would have been forgiven for relishing the moment that he scored for his country to rescue a point in the dying embers in Sofia. The 28-year-old rose to give Stephen Kenny’s side a draw against Bulgaria in the Nations League match and capped off a brilliant week for the Celtic defender.
Duffy joined his boyhood club on a season long loan on Wednesday and last night he was captain for Ireland. The goal completed a hat trick of honours for the Derry-born man but he was still not happy with the performance as a whole, giving a glimpse into his elite mentality which fans will be delighted to see.

Duffy is an experienced pro that will bring discipline and aggression to the Celtic back line. His leadership is what is missing in defence and I’m sure he can’t wait to get started.
