While Celtic fell to a disappointing defeat in Rotterdam on Matchday One, their UEFA Champions League Group G rivals played out a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico. Pablo Barrios scored for Atletico Madrid in the first half and a typical Diego Simeone performance followed with the La Liga Giants looking to stifle their hosts.
However, with 95 minutes on the clock, Lazio drew level from the most unlikely source. Goalkeeper Ivan Provedel popped up with an incredible header after making a striker’s run and firing the ball beyond Jan Oblak.
