Video – Top Of The Range Sports Car To Spluttering Three Wheeler, Comical Sutton Jibe

Chris Sutton is never one to shy away from a chance to mock ‘Rangers’, and the former Celtic striker was in fine form once again, during BT Sport’s coverage of Hamilton Academical v Celtic yesterday afternoon.

Speaking before the match, Sutton was asked to give his verdict on the opportunity that had been presented to Celtic, following ‘Rangers” 0-0 draw at home against Aberdeen the previous day. His comments were as damning and humorous as ever: “They’ve hit the brakes haven’t they? They went into the winter break like a top of the range sports car, and now they’ve come out like a spluttering three wheeler.”

Gordon Strachan, a fellow BT Sport pundit at the game, was in fits of laughter as Sutton delivered the harsh truth in less than phlegmatic fashion. Few could argue with the remark, considering that ‘Rangers’ have now taken just 4 points from a possible 9, since returning to action in 2020. Meanwhile, Celtic romped to a 4-1 victory, ensuring maximum return for their endeavours this year.
