Video: Watch the Hoops train at Portuguese pre-season camp

Our Celtic stars have been feeling the heat lately as they lay the preparations for the cinch Premiership campaign kicking off again in August. With only a matter of a few weeks to go now, Brendan Rodgers and his backroom staff have been putting the squad through their paces out in Portugal at our pre-season training camp.

The Bhoys will start the new season off against Ross County on Flag Day in Glasgow’s East End and it promises to be a cracker. Firstly though, Brendan will have the task of getting last year’s Scottish Premiership Champions and Treble winners into shape ahead of the domestic duties beginning.

With the manager admittedly wanting to make a few tweaks here and there to the way we have previously played under Ange Postecoglou, the players will no doubt need time and space to work on the subtleties of Rodgers’ style of play and his way of working. With John Kennedy also at the helm though, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

However, there may be some games required to iron out any potential kinks to the set-up or general rustiness to the players legs and such. With more new players set to come in too, the games against Wolves and Athletic Club jsut before the Scottish Premiership starts will be crucial in aiding this process. The players have been hard at work though in Portugal and Rodgers has already praised them for their efforts and contributions.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
