Video: “Without The Celtic Support In The Stadium There Isn’t The Same Meaning To This Football Club,” Ange Postecoglou

This evening we featured Ange Postecoglou in our photo of the day article, in which we touched on the way in which he conducts himself and the parallels he has with the Celtic story in his own life. Beyond that, he also has a great connection with the fans and seems to genuinely appreciate the magnificent support that they provide himself and the team.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the game this afternoon, Ange was asked about the moment he shared with the Celtic support at full time.

The gaffer answered: “As I’ve said from day one, I’m not sure whether I’m worthy of the adulation or the support more importantly that I’m getting because I haven’t achieved what I want to yet. But I can’t dismiss the fact that they’re right behind not just me but the whole team. The atmosphere they created today, you know there was a few who unfortunately couldn’t get into the ground but the ones who were here made up for it with their noise and they’re the most important part of this football club.

“If you talk to anyone who was here last year and without the Celtic support, without the fans in the stadium, our fans, there isn’t the same sort of meaning to this football club.

“So me it’s just about showing my sort of gratitude for their support”
