‘Wat About Dimenshaa? Dude, first I’ve heard of it,’ Teenage Celtic Star kicks the Media

HE’S played two games for Celtic – against Partick Thistle and Ross County and these are his only two professional games at senior level – and in each one, he’s walked off with The Celtic Star’s Man of the Match.

Lazio will be sighing in relief that Celtic somehow have omitted the young Dutch right back who plays like a right winger from the Europa League squad. He’ll be sitting watching with the rest of us, though he’d have been a viable option to have on the bench. Neil Lennon is going to start with this team isn’t he?

We’re talking about young Jeremie Frimpong who lit up Celtic Park on Saturday. He had a hand in the opening goal but it was that 25 minutes at the start of the second half, playing next to the North stand, when he was unplayable, a sensational performance that left the support desperate for some more. It also delighted the manager who yesterday revealed that the Dutch right-back had been impressing so much in training that it was IMPOSSIBLE not to start him against Ross County.

Today Jeremie spoke to the media and you can watch his interview packed with optimism and enthusiasm below, warning though, it’s infectious…and when the media start firing issues at him like Prime Minister’s Questions, the teenager handled it all perfectly. Watch here…

Some of the supporter comments on Jeremie Frimpong’s interview are below…

“Feast or famine at right back. Last year we had to put up with Lustig who was well past it and had no real competition for his place. New season and one transfer window later we’ve got three decent right backs all competing for a start. This young man looks very promising and I hope he gets game time to help his development. Elhamed the No 1 at the moment. What a player he is for a relatively modest transfer fee.”

“His enthusiasm is highly contagious. I really think we have a talent with this guy in a position where there are very few talents nowadays. He should keep Bauer and Elhamed on their toes and he offers something different attacking-wise. He allows Forrest to cut inside a lot as he plays almost as a right winger. Great vision and technically competent in tight spaces with bags of energy.”

“Media muppets, asking a teenage boy about dementia! Clowns man.”

“He’s a class act btw he’s going to be a baller.”

“Seems a brilliant young boy. Keep working hard son you’ll be a superstar.”

“Wow this guy’s personality is great and he looks promising. Happy to have you at the club Jeremie!”

“Really great prospect and seems like the right attitude to make it to the top. If he can play just as good on the left then the KT sale to Arsenal seems like great deal.”

“Guy like this will be wasted at Right back, Get him in Right Wing and you’ll soon see Jamsey picking up his game with this lad behind him because he looks faster and harder to defend than Forrest.”

“Smashing lad. Enthusiasm and confidence ripping out of him. Training ground must be a positive place as there are some really bright and bubbly characters added this summer. Now just get Victor home in January to help manage the Captain’s game time and be the long term replacement.”

“Thought the same thing a 18 yr old buzzing at starting his professional career so well and football seems to be his main focus in life, would you talk about dementia then racism? He is not a fecking PM he’s a kid that’s so happy and I’m sure he brings a great vibe to the rest of the team.”

“Elhamed and big julien can help this lad! Funny interview, it’s going great guns then dikead butts in with,”WAT ABOUT DIMENSHAA? ?”wth dude, he said ,first I’ve heard! Ask him about his craft or career!”

“This lad is an outstanding talent I cant believe city let him go for next to nothing and no buy back clause.”
