Watch the goals as Scotland go into half-time trailing Israel

Scotland went into the break at Hampden a chaotic first half in Glasgow trailing Israel by one goal. Steve Clarke’s side went into the game knowing how a win would put them in a favourable position to book a place in the World Cup. However, Eran Zahavi dashed the Scotland fans hopes that it would be a straightforward win over their rivals.

Jack Hendry committed a foul, allowing Zahavi to step up and curl his seventh goal in seven games for Israel. It was a spectacular strike, even if there is potential culpability in the Scottish wall, allowing the PSV striker to get his strike over the wall and beyond Gordon.

Then, John McGinn evened the fixture with a well-worked team goal. The Aston Villa midfielder curled in a left footed effort to leave Marciano with no chance. It looked as if Scotland could get back on top but just a minute after the restart, Israel celebrated once more after Dabbur netted from calamitous defending from the Scots.

There was further drama as the half time whistle neared. Billy Gilmour was hacked down in the box, allowing Lyndon Dykes the opportunity to restore parity. The QPR striker stepped up having scored the vital goal against Austria but fortunately for Ofir Marciano, he hit the ball straight up the middle and it was saved.
