MOUSSA DEMBELE spent two years scoring for Celtic. The Frenchman signed in 2016 and left in 2018 having scored 51 goals in 94 appearances, winning six out of six trophies. The striker left for Lyon and it was part of the script that he would score when the side’s met in a pre-season friendly last night.
Like clockwork, Dembele was there to knock the ball into the net after just four minutes. He didn’t celebrate but it was weird seeing him score against Celtic.
Of course big Moussa is a class act, as his first goal against Celtic with only 4 minutes on the clock proved last night. That is in sharp contrast to the hapless Alfredo Morelos who has been trying for THREE YEARS to score against the Hoops without any joy. He’s had a tap-in from half a yard saved by Scott Bain, had Craig Gordon come between him and some consolation glory during a few cup Skelpings at Hampden and came up against The Wall in the League Cup Final last December when his duck breaking penalty effort was brilliantly saved.
Following the game, Dembele posted a classy message on his Twitter page.
Nice to see you again @CelticFC 😊🤗🍀 Felt kind of weird to score against you…but after all it’s only a preparation game. We’ll meet again soon🍀🍀@dembelition pic.twitter.com/MwvZCwNXI5

After the early goal, people would have feared that Dembele would be all over the Celtic defence but truthfully, he was marshalled fairly well considering what he is capable of. Dembele drew a yellow card from Soro after leaving Elhamed and Bitton in his wake after a brilliant touch and turn almost sent him through on goal.
It must be really annoying for the Colombian that Moussa Dembele took just four minutes to outscored him in games against Celtic. when he has been trying and failing for three long barren seasons for the Rangers. And unlike Morelos, big Moussa had no problems scoring in Glasgow Derbies. Here’s the proof…
