“What a day”, Joe Hart reacts to Cup win and career send off

Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart was emotional after Brendan Rodgers’ side secured a League and Cup Double by beating Rangers at Hampden on Saturday. The Englishman announced at the end of February that this would be his final season as a professional footballer, which olives been the catalyst for some players in the dressing room to give him a fitting send off.

Taking to Instagram, Hart reflected on the Cup win as he ended his illustrious career by lifting another piece of silverware.

Hart has been an inspired acquisition by the club. Not only has he been quality in goals, Hart has been a great leader in the changing room and he has immersed himself with the club’s culture.

In his time at the club, Hart made 152 appearances making 63 clean sheets, winning 7 trophies in the three seasons with the Scottish Champions.

Celtic benefited from Tottenham’s error and it allowed a beautiful relationship to blossom between the former Man City stopper. At 37, Hart will now go into the next stage of his life after hanging up his gloves.
