It has been a hard couple of weeks for Celtic fans to look on and realise Vasilis Barkas is just as bad with fans as he was without.
The Greek goalie, 27, moved to Glasgow for a fee of £5million last summer following a string of superb performances for AEK Athens. However, sub standard performances have left Celtic pining for a new man between the sticks.
This morning, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has declared Celtic have opened talks with Joe Hart, the former England goalkeeper – with the news dividing the majority of the Celtic support.
I’d definitely take Joe Hart at Celtic miles ahead of Barkas has played at the highest level

1 thing about Joe Hart is that he is certainly better than anything at Celtic Park at moment

Joe Hart to Celtic?
I’ll take that. An upgrade on Barkas but error prone

Yet, despite the links with a keeper who has won everything England has to offer domestically – multiple times – fans are still unsure on the decision; with some claiming he isn’t good enough to don the famous goalkeeper kit.
See when I said Celtic need a new goalkeeper. I absolutely did not mean Joe Hart and I’m not sure anybody did

Sign Joe Hart and I WILL shoot myself on the Celtic Way as Dominic McKay watches on from his office.
Your choice.

If he’s not good enough for West Ham or Burnley what’s going to make him good enough for Celtic

Take it from a writer who is primarily a Burnley fan. He didn’t do badly for us, and that was in a team which was consistently under the cosh in the Premier League. For a team like Celtic – who for 38 games out of 38 should be consistently looking to take the front foot – he is much more suited to their style of play. Some of his shot stopping is superb – and how people want Barkas over him is baffling given the suicidal saves the Greek has produced.
No not joe hart why would we he will be a disaster
I must be honest I feel we are really at a crossroads and I wish it was traffic lights we might have more time
Time is running out
Just because Hart is better than what we have doesn’t make him good. His best days are well behind him, Burnley were happy to let him go and he couldn’t get a game for a poor Spurs side (in comparison to previous years) last season. Chasing Hart has panic written all over it.
Can’t for love or money understand why Celtic could not eat humble pie and bring back Craig Gordon !
And we need a right back ! Maybe that guy who plays number 2 for Scotland and Motherwell!
