Why Ten-in-a-Row and a Quadruple Treble are of Equal Importance

Some fans prioritise the ten over winning a quadruple treble. In reality, there’s not a decision that needs to be made between the two as Celtic should aim to win both and are capable of doing so. Putting everything into one more match will hardly derail our league campaign.

Ten in a row is about setting a new record in Scottish football as far as I’m concerned. It’s not a global record as Rosenberg have won 13 in a row. The ten would probably not last as second place to that run either, considering that Juventus are going for ten Serie A titles this season, whilst Bayern Munich are currently going for nine in the German Bundesliga.

The record is exactly that, setting new heights in Scotland. It’s not about getting one over on a club that was liquidated in 2012. That club won nine in a row through the use of EBT’s and paid the price for it a couple of decades down the line. Celtic’s achievements already eclipse that effort because the Hoops have won nine league titles in a row on two separate occasions and have collected a treble-treble along the way.

When it comes to setting the bar higher and creating records, a quadruple treble is at the top of the agenda. Granted, a treble treble will never be equaled anywhere in the world, but why not go one better and make it a quadruple? The difference here is that consecutive trebles is likely to stand as a global record, not just a Scottish one.

Both records are in our hands. To complete both would cement this team’s legacy as the second greatest in our history, behind the Lisbon Lions.
