Mikey Johnston continuing to do well is good news for all involved…
Mikey Johnston is certainly making a big impact and winning plenty of admirers down south with his performances for West Bromwich Albion in the English Championship.
Mikey scored yet another cracker in last nights 2-2 draw with QPR at loftus road to make it 3 goals in 7 appearances for the Championship side. While it’s good to see him doing well, it still doesn’t change the fact that he has no future at Celtic. Mikey is nearly 25 and he’s had more than one chance to make the grade but sadly hasn’t grabbed that opportunity.
Whether that’s been through injury or inconsistency is another thing, but it’s plainly obvious that his days at Celtic are numbered.
However the form that Mikey is showing at his temporary home is good news for the club as it will only increase his transfer value. If he keeps it up, the club will be in a position to negotiate a decent fee for Mikey’s signature. That is good news not just for the clubs coffers, but the player himself.
The club will receive a decent fee while getting an unwanted player off the wage bill. While Mikey can move and blossom at an environment where pressure is at a minimum. West Brom’s takeover has now been completed and the new owners have ambitious to get back to the Premier League. Signing Mikey from Celtic must be high up their plans given his brilliant form. Everyone’s a winner.

Maybe found his level in the championship? Certainly not CL level and that’s the level I want my Celtic team full of.
