Warning: Scam Attempts To Steal Funds From Celtic Fans’ Mental Health Charity

A disgusting scam has been launched today, which aims to profit from donations that are intended for the Mental Health Walk and Talk charity group. Do NOT be fooled by it!

In 2020, Celtic fan Andy Pingu launched a Mental Health Walk and Talk group for fellow supporters, and fans of other clubs/none, going through a tough time. The initiative enables people to open up about their difficulties and talk about them in a confidential environment, with others going through similar experiences. Many attendees have found the meetings to be liberating and extremely useful. It is often the first step that people have made to open up, the move being easier to make in a casual environment with fellow Celtic/football supporters.

Over time, Andy has grown the regular walks and talks – organising food, boxing classes, trips away, and tickets to matches & events for attendees – this being possible thanks to generous donations from the Celtic support and beyond.

Today, a sick individual made an identical Twitter page to Andy Pingu and began conning people into donating money to a PayPal address that has no connection with the Walk and Talk charity. The scammer’s Twitter account has already changed name and could continue to do so, along with changing the PayPal address they are using.

Therefore, it is important to note that the ONLY Twitter account associated with the Mental Health Walk and Talk group is @andypingu1888; while the ONLY PayPal address for the charity is mhwalktalk@yahoo.com.

Please DO NOT send money to any other PayPal address if you are intending to donate to the Walk and Talk group.

A great charity, which benefits the community in Glasgow and surrounding areas, it is well worth getting involved with the Walk and Talk group, or donating to support their efforts. They have provided a lifeline for a number of struggling Celtic fans in recent times.

If you would like to get involved in the Mental Health Walk & Talk and/or their boxing classes/events then you can do so by contacting Andy Pingu on Twitter: @andypingu1888

Andy will be able to provide details of when and where meetings & classes will take place.
