Reported Celtic target Alex Collado in talks with La Liga outfit

Reported Celtic target Alex Collado is in talks with Elche with a view to completing a loan move this month. The Spaniard is a product of Barca’s legendary La Masia but openings with the Camp Nou outfit appear to be extremely limited, especially due to the influx of new talent this summer.

Reports have stated that the 23-year-old is allowed to leave Barcelona this summer with manager Xavi offering a loan deal. Celtic had been touted as holding an interest in the attacking midfielder but it appears that Barca are unwilling to offer anything other than a loan deal. Now, journalist Albert Roge has stated that the Elche are best placed to sign him.

It is unlikely that Celtic will sign a player under Ange’s new approach that won’t benefit the club in the long run, i.e. will remain beyond the conclusion of their spell. Celtic have recruited well this summer but the manager said that his side would look to add another couple to their ranks. The Champions League Group Stages will add another layer of competition to the season, aside from attempting to conquer all domestically. Mikey Johnston is expected to leave, albeit on loan, and the manager will see versatility as being key to his remaining acquisitions
