AC Milan squad news vs Celtic: Key attacking duo miss out and defender doesn’t travel amid Covid-19 issues

AC Milan have been up and down in the past few years, but they’ve finally managed to get their act together this season and they do look like fearsome opposition for Celtic in the Europa League.

Celtic come into the game after one of their worst performances in the long time, while we’ll also find out if Celtic Park can still intimidate opponents on a big European night when there aren’t any fans in attendance.

If there were any hopes of the Italian side taking this game lightly then they’ve been put to bed by a report from Football Italia as they confirm the squad that’s travelling for the game.

Most of the big names are in there and they’ll even be bringing a Maldini, although Daniel bucks the family trend by playing in an advanced position.

The two big injury concerns were surrounding Ante Rebic and Hakan Calhanoglu and neither player is fit enough to travel, while the Turkish star is a big part of Milan’s attacking play so that’s a big blow for them.

They also confirm that defender Leo Duarte is not travelling to the game despite testing negative for Covid-19, although he would’ve been unlikely to start anyway so that won’t be seen as a major issue.

They should still offer a serious threat going forward with the creativity of Bennacer and Tonali supplying Zlatan and Rafael Leao up front, so it will be some effort from Celtic if they manage to take something from the game.
