“Ange has brought the pride back,” says Ramon Vega, “it’s down to him where Celtic are right now”

Former Celtic treble winner Ramon Vega believes that Ange Postecoglou has transformed Celtic and given the support back their pride in the club after the wheels came off last season and as he looks towards the Australian leading Celtic to a Treble of his own in his first season in charge and with the huge Champions League windfall that comes with it due to automatic qualification for the group stages, Vega reckons that Celtic are on the verge of creating another era of domination in the Scottish game leaving last year’s One Season Wonders in the shadows.

Speaking to Scottish Sun Vega outlined his thoughts after taking in Celtic’s impressive win at Ibrox on Sunday which opened up a six points lead at the top of the table, reversing the position of trailing theRangers by six points at the winter break.

“Celtic were in a little bit of uncertainty at the start of the season. Last summer we didn’t know who the manager was going to be. Peter Lawwell had left as chief executive, there was no sporting director, and then they finally brought in Ange as gaffer. He had a lot of work to do, but went about it like managers used to in the past. He was the man who made the decisions in terms of bringing in the players.

“Ange recruited people and made the team stronger, and there is a real belief among the squad now. Even the ones who have been there under other managers, players like Tom Rogic, who worked with Postecoglou with the Australian national team, is back to his best. Ange has made him a key player again and we saw that at Ibrox on Sunday.

“The Celtic fans are proud of where the club are now and how they are playing. They won nine in a row, but last year didn’t go to plan for them. Ange has brought the pride back and I hope he can win the Treble, because it’s down to him where Celtic are right now.

“After the problems they had at the start of the season, there is now a stability at the club and it has stood them in good stead. Sunday was a key moment for Celtic’s season and I see them going on to win the league.

“There is still work to be done, but they are in such a strong position. If they win the title this season it means they get straight into the Champions League and the riches that brings. It’s not like England where the clubs get big money for the TV rights. For Celtic to get into the group stages it is massive in terms of revenue, and it could help Ange strengthen his squad.

“If they do that I can see them dominating Scottish football again for a number of years.”

There is no doubt that Ange Postecoglou has transformed Celtic, his re-build job has been magnificent and his man-management simply outstanding with all his players desperate to impress and the entire Celtic support behind him, as indeed has been the case since the day he walked through the door.

That gave Ange the foundations to do the brilliant job he’s done and the fact that he’s proved all the MSM hacks completely wrong is an added bonus, is it not?

Last night we published an article from a Celtic supporter who was at Ibrox on Sunday and has made some serious points that really need to be addressed by Scottish football authorities and indeed should be a major concern for Celtic as the club has a duty of care to the supporters it is issuing tickets to.
