Ange singles out Celtic midfielder after impressive display at Motherwell

Ange Postecoglou spoke to Sky Sports after the game today, which Celtic went on to dominate 4-0 in the end up. The performance carried on from the Glasgow Derby, imposing our game on the opponent and killing the game in the first-half practically. A game which many questioned how Celtic would perform after our midweek high.

However, the team – with a few changes to the side which beat theRangers on Wednesday evening, were simply unstoppable to quote Alex Neil in the Sky Sports studio. Goals from Abada and Maeda, either side of a Tom Rogic double saw the Hoops take apart Graham Alexander’s men in eloquent comfortability this afternoon in Lanarkshire.

Ange has been crying out for reinforcements to help carry out his tactics and see out games this year. January has certainly made an impact and has saw a dramatic upsurge in the energy that has been more akin to the games against Dundee and St Mirren, when we hammered both at Celtic Park back in August.

The boss has started to implement his full on Angeball style since the return of the winter break, swatting aside our closest rivals on the road to going top of the cinch Premiership league table for the first time in a long while. A deserving place for a deserving man. The team certainly put on another show today for the adorning masses of Hoops supporters – both at the game and watching from the house.

Tom Rogic was given an acknowledgement by his fellow countryman on his return to the Celtic side this afternoon, after a showing that suggested the Aussie could have been wearing slippers out there in the cold of Fir Park. He said: “Tommy’s been outstanding for us this year, every game he’s played. He’s done awfully well for us. That’s what we want. We want him to continue to get better, and continue to be the player we know he can be. He’s exciting. You know, I thought he’s had a chance to get a hat-trick today which he wouldn’t have done any other time in his career. Overall, his general play was good.”

Let’s hope Tom continues his rebirth in this Ange Postecoglou side.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
