Another classy gesture from Our Sacred Hart

A video has surfaced on social media which shows our No.1 Joe Hart caught in another classy act with the supporters as he consoled a young boy who was quite clearly overcome with emotion at meeting the former Premier League winner in the flesh outside of Lennoxtown after his training had finished.

Hart came into the club last season and helped both the manager and his captain, Callum McGregor build a new culture and environment after the disappointment of the 2020-21 campaign. He bought into the ethos of Celtic Football Club and has been an indispensable addition to the playing staff at times.

His performances and leadership skills have been the foundation of the solidifying triangle between himself, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt in the backline for the Hoops. Guiding his teammates and driving them on, Joe has acquitted himself seamlessly across both his on and off-field duties – coming as close to perfection as humanly possible.

The latest exploits from Our Sacred Hart is genuinely heart-warming but not at all surprising. In the aforementioned video, he asks the child his name and he begins to cry, prompting Joe to ask him “not to be upset” and that he will see him “many times again”. In a final act of comfort he extends his hand and asks the youngster to shake his hand.

Such a class act is our Joe!

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
