Appreciation for Celtic’s Scott Robertson – “A Superstar in the Making”

Celtic starlet Scott Robertson has caused a stir on twitter after being praised by loan club, Crewe Alexandra and their fans following yesterday’s 2-0 victory over Burton Albion.

“He is a superstar in the making”, “Top player and we’re very lucky to have him! One of those players where no matter what’s happening in the game, they are a pleasure to watch ” – Crewe Alexandra twitter blows up over loan Celt Robertson…

Robertson, 20, has been on the cusp of the Celtic team for the past 18 months or so. Having previously been farmed out to Gillingham, most fans thought this would be the season he made his mark on the first team. Celtic thought better however, and sent him on another loan to ensure he racks up game time.

Robertson was in the wars in midweek when he took a head knock and ended up with loose front teeth, but played on and saw out the game – where he was named Man of the Match – before seeking the assistance of a dentist. His manager joked that he was now a ‘proper Glaswegian with that Craig Burley look.

With the team looking light now in the central areas, maybe it would be a decent idea to recall the young player in the January window.

By the sounds of it, this kid is fast becoming a strong midfielder.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
