It’s never a great idea to presume what will happen in football purely based on betting patterns, but it’s also natural to wonder if people know something that you don’t.

There are still plenty of stories going around which suggest most clubs will not be able to spend a lot of money this summer, so it’s surprising to see that they are linked with big money transfers at the same time.

They claim that Arsenal are now the favourites to sign the Frenchman, after a flurry of bets means that over 51% of the money placed on his possible transfer has been wagered on him moving to The Emirates.

The report suggests that Eddy might be worth around £30m, but there really isn’t any sign that Celtic want to sell him, or that any team might be close to signing him either.

He certainly has the talent to star down south, He’s physical and prolific but he’s also demonstrated he can be an unselfish striker who holds the ball up and lets the team get up the pitch.

This story is purely based on betting patterns for now so there’s no immediate sign that the Celtic fans should be worried, but it will be a relief if he’s still a Celtic player when the transfer window closes.
