Barry Ferguson – Greatest manager since Clement, Beale, Gerrard etc

Wee Bazza is now the greatest thing since Philippe Clement…Michael Beale…Stephen Gerrard etc etc…

Barry Ferguson is the hero of the moment among the over-excited supporters of theRangers and the Scottish media, or what’s left of them after so many within their ranks left this week to answer the call from Ibrox.

They are clearly impressed by his managerial prowess as he rallied his troops form two goals down to overcome Kilmarnock at Rugby Park to all but secure second spot ahead of the likes of Aberdeen, Hibs, and Dundee United.

They are all saying the same thing. And that is that under Clement they wouldn’t have had the belief to come back from such a blow. Although that is unfair to the big Belgian as they are doing him a great disservice by forgetting his achievement of coming back from two goals down to beat Celtic 3-3 in the famous moral victory last April.

Or overcoming a two goal deficit to beat Dundee a month later. The start of Bazza’s reign has a lot of similarities with Clements own storming start which seen the Belgian lead his side to a 4-0 win over Hibs before going on a winning run that seen him labelled as the greatest threat to Brendan Rodgers’s Dynasty at Celtic since the brains behind Steven Gerrard, Michael Beale.

That form was then rewarded with a new and improved contract to scare off Europe’s elite clubs and that apparently has proved to have been a costly decision which they’ll be pay for for a while yet.

Barry has a long way to go, but he’s made a great start in his bid to fill his predecessors brown brogues. He quickly realised that the centre-half hailed as the next fab Dijk and destined to play for Real Madrid was hopeless and he took decisive action to hook the boy after half an hour.

Derek McInnes strangely didn’t sit in to protect his 2-0 lead but instead played man on man all over the pitch and it suited theRangers down to the plastic ground.

The 4-2 win will keep the Bears happy and will do Barry Ferguson’s chances of getting the job no harm. He will be the cheap option and maybe the popular one. It suits us just fine too.

Not too sure Derek McInnes will be in the running after that shambles last night.

  1. It really won’t matter who they get in as long as we keep Rodgers happy and improve the team in the summer……..
